Sri Lanka Extends 50% Surcharge on Vehicle Import Duties
Sri Lanka has extended a 50% surcharge on vehicle import duties. This measure was initially put in place to conserve foreign currency and alleviate pressure on the Sri Lankan rupee.
EconomyNext reported that the extension is until December 31.
Newswire indicated that the Vehicle Importers Association of Sri Lanka (VIASL) expects vehicle prices in the country to increase significantly as a result of this extension.
