Suspect arrested for attempting to throw contraband, including 30 rechargeable batteries, over Magazine Prison wall
A suspect has been arrested for allegedly attempting to throw a parcel containing prohibited items over the wall of the Magazine Prison in Colombo.
The parcel, which was recovered, contained 30 rechargeable mobile phone batteries, 250 grams of slaked lime, 50 grams of tobacco, betel nuts, and 'Mawa'.
Police confirmed the arrest and the recovery of the contraband.
