Police Clearance Certificate Issuance Temporarily Suspended Due to System Breakdown; Temporary Procedure Introduced
The issuance of Police Clearance Certificates has been temporarily suspended in Sri Lanka due to a system breakdown. This suspension affects applications for these certificates.
The computerised system used by the Police Clearance Division, located on the 17th floor of the Suhurupaya Building in Battaramulla, has been inactive since noon on Thursday, October 20th.
In response to the disruption, the Sri Lanka Police have introduced a temporary procedure for obtaining Police Clearance Certificates.
This temporary measure aims to address the inability to submit applications through the regular computerised system.
Why it scored 4/10: The event has a minor national impact as it affects a common administrative process for citizens, with multiple credible sources reporting on the issue and its resolution.
