Mahela Jayawardene steps down as Mumbai Indians head coach
Mahela Jayawardene and the Mumbai Indians have parted ways. The franchise announced that Jayawardene will step down from his role.
Jayawardene served as the head coach for the Mumbai Indians for the last two seasons, marking his second stint in that position. He previously held the role from 2017 to 2022.
The separation comes ahead of the 2027 auction.
Why it scored 4/10: This event involves a prominent Sri Lankan sports figure in an international cricket league, making it notable for Sri Lankan sports fans but not of major national impact.
